Emma J Page

About me I’m a writer, editor and commissioning editor working across interiors, travel and lifestyle for a number of national magazines and newspapers, including Homes & Gardens and Living Etc. A background in television publicity and a stint in hotel PR, combined with a love of reading both books and magazines, steered me towards a career in content creation. I still get excited by the endless possibilities of storytelling.

My specialist subjects …. range far and wide, from homes stories and profile pieces on designer/makers to trends round-ups and 'out and about' pages - for me all of these threads tie together to make a whole. Unearthing new designs, meeting makers and seeing a new building or store take shape are all passions.

My favourite places to shop Antiques fairs at home and abroad for vintage glassware and linens; Summerill & Bishop for ceramics and cookware; The Conran Shop for design classics

The designers that inspire me There are so many designers that I admire for their integrity and timeless approach. I love the simplicity of John Minshaw’s work, the warmth of Jonathan Reed’s schemes and the confident, playful approach of Kit Kemp.

My decorating style Simple and classic with a twist. Unfussy, clean lines and design that is both ergonomic and easy to live with appeals to me - but always within a personality-driven scheme. For me, books, special finds, treasured collections and meaningful mementoes are the beating heart of a room. Oh, and I’ll always have a soft spot for a chic, understated Parisian apartment.
