Rooms: Intimate yet luxurious, the hotel's 28 bedrooms and 17 suites offer everything you'd expect from a boutique hotel. The rooms, ranging from Classic (shown) to Indulgent, are decorated in pale, muted colours, with contemporary accent pieces and traditional country prints. Each space has its own personality thanks to a host of period and architectural features, such as bare beams and exposed, centuries-old brickwork, while the suites boast freestanding copper baths and rainforest showers for a deluxe feel. There's also a spa located in the vaulted cellars, with a relaxation area under its arches for those in need of a pamper.
Famous For: Its history and original features. The Kings Head Hotel was a coaching inn during the 14th century, while records show that in 1550 it was owned by High Bailiff and clothier Robert Strange. By the 20th century, it had passed hands so many times that the story of its origin became confused. Then, during its restoration in 2014, an original Roman mosaic was unearthed, which is now displayed under glass in the reception.
Celebrity Guests: The hotel can't comment on its visitors, but rumour has it that Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan was spotted in the bar.
