New spring bedlinen for urban living
Urban chic is the look of the season, so channel New York cool with Lexington’s new bedding collection
There's no better time of year to freshen up the bedroom than spring and this season we've set our sights on the trend for urban living. Although monochrome provides the basis for the look, shades of grey and subtle bursts of brighter yet easy-to-live with colours soften the effect, and are paired with organic, textural materials. Think weathered wood, soft-to-the-touch fabrics and utilitarian furniture and accessories.
Lexington's new bedding and bathroom collection, the Urban Collective Collection, (above) encapsulates the style with aplomb. The company has found inspiration in New York, more specifically Brooklyn, and, as everybody knows, New York never goes out of fashion. The Urban Collective Collection consist of a poplin bedding in three colours, white, grey and green, a graphic sham, bedspreads, throws, terry towels in white and grey and a bathrobe. The range has a pared-back feel, incorporating sober hues against crisp white, all given a lift by a flash of deep mustardy green and subtle stripes and pattern. It's designed to appeal to young, sophisticated and vibrant urbanites, who are keen to invest in high-quality pieces that will stand the test of time.
We love how this room has been styled: an eclectic mix of black-and-white artwork, from photography to vintage adverts, behind the bed makes a focal point, while touches such as the bed head - crafted from knotty reclaimed timber - evoke a blissfully relaxed air.
It's a scheme that's young, sassy and smart, with plenty of character and perfect for those who love to get creative when designing an interior.
