ROOMS
Each of the 69 rooms has a fresh, bright and modern feel, and range from the charmingly named Standard, Better and Best rooms (shown) to Family Suites. The décor is based on the tones of the local landscape, so expect oyster grey, porcelain, misty blue and pops of sunset yellow, while nautical accessories include driftwood lamps, rope-hanging mirrors and wide-striped cushions. Keeping things authentic, locally sourced materials are used in rustic floorboards, Cornish granite cobbles and natural slate. Coastal-inspired lighting fixtures in brass and copper, plus practical Anglepoise lamps, work together to create a relaxed atmosphere.
FAMOUS FOR
Surfing is a big deal at Watergate Bay, so the ‘Surf In Surf Out' showers and sweeping boardwalk, connecting the hotel to the two-mile stretch of sandy shores, make for an easy ride. The hotel also has a 25m-long, beach-front infinity pool, swimming and yoga clinics, a range of spa treatments and four unique dining experiences, including Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall.
CELEBRITY GUESTS
Although the hotel doesn't reveal names, the area is said to be popular with comedian Meera Syal, film critic Mark Kermode and journalist Caitlin Moran.
