Transport yourself back to the 60s with this Birmingham home that has remained unchanged for half a century!

A four-bed home that has remained unchanged since the day it was crowned ‘House of the Year' at the 1967 Ideal Home Show is on the market.

The property named Montana in Great Barr, Birmingham goes up for auction with Pennycuick Collins next week and is expected to fetch over £230,000. The current owner inherited the property from his parents who bought the pad 50 years ago for just £11,000.

The iconic piece of architecture on Birmingham's landscape was constructed in a traditional Canadian style, new to the British construction scene in the 1960s, and still boasts many of these original features today.

Inspired by modern American architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, the house is built on a slope, meaning the second storey sits on the same level as the road and the ground floor opens up onto the subterranean garden.

And just as the exterior has maintained its original 60s look, so has the retro interior...

You can practically smell the fondue bubbling away on the stove and the prawn cocktail chilling in the fridge in this time warp kitchen. Bright orange, patterned floor tiles, pink formica cabinets and avocado green laminate worktops are a far cry from our modern white, glossy kitchens.

Also downstairs, the dining room is the perfect spot to host a glamorous cocktail party. The rich, pink carpet compliments the blush chairs and honey stained Parana wood walls make it quite the show stopper.
