Step into spring with Sainsbury's
Looking to update your home for Spring? Sainsbury's new Neutrals collection is perfect for giving your rooms an elegant, calming twist
Looking to refresh your home for the New Year? After the rich reds and greens of the holiday season, nothing beats a soothing neutral scheme. Not only is it chic and calming but also incredibly versatile - the perfect canvas to showcase your style. And, this year, pulling off this stylish look couldn't be easier, thanks to Sainsbury's. Their new Neutrals collection is chocker full of fabulous products in soft, elegant hues.
"Subtle tones and matt finishes create a sense of calm and relaxation," explains Andrew Tanner, who is Head of Home Design at Sainsbury's.
Start off by choosing a palette of cool cream, dove grey and warm taupe, highlighted by splashes of pristine white, to create a sense of relaxed elegance.
Keep shapes simple and classic. Dress up your furniture with plush throws to add textural depth and to help you fend off the last of the winter cold.
"Whilst there is still a chill in the air snuggle up with simple and practical herringbone throws and remind yourself that, as is written on one of our inspirational cushions, Happiness is Homemade," says Andrew.
Just be sure to replace thick woollies with lighter knits or chic woven fabrics when the weather turns. Complement this clean, sophisticated look with scatter cushions in subtle patterns, such as diamonds and herringbone blocks, to add visual interest.
You can also create a pretty focal point by grouping clear-glass and textured-ceramic vessels on a side cabinet and highlighting your display with a streamlined task light. Don't forget to add a pop of colour to your scheme with arrangements of seasonal greenery and bold artwork on the walls.
