How to make a chandelier centrepiece fit for a garden party
Pretty up your garden for outdoor entertaining with a colourful chandelier centrepiece
Vintage chandeliers are beautiful in their own right, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of glam – particularly when it comes to summer garden parties! We love this clever upycle idea using ribbon and fabric offcuts. It's an easy way to inject colour and fun into an outdoor get together...
To make, you will need:
Cut different lengths of ribbons and yarn in bright, summery colours. There's no need for tricky bows and knots, it's all about creativity; loosely tie ribbons and lengths of yarn around your chandelier, then attach faux blooms with invisible tape. We chose a variety of flowers for a country cottage garden look, but if you want a more classic decoration, stick to lots of one kind. Use a slipknot to create a strong loop to hang your finished decorations.
*SAFETY TIP. Ensure your chandeliers are completely secure when hanging.
Planning a country-style wedding? Give your venue the added wow-factor by hanging chandelier centrepieces above tables, or in trees for outdoor venues. Choose ribbons to complement your colour scheme and flowers to match your bouquet. Add strips of lace or broderie anglaise for a vintage feel, or metallic streamers if you prefer a touch of glam.
