Before the owners got their hands on this home, the kitchen was small and not conducive to family life or entertaining. After knocking through to a Victorian lean-to, this delicious and spacious dark-wood kitchen offers a practical layout, with space to cook, entertain and relax.
1/8 Kitchen view
The kitchen design and cabinetry was supplied by Crabtree.
2/8 Open plan sink area
Every inch of space is utilised in this kitchen, with a coffee machine built into the cabinetry, creating more useable worktop space.
For similar built-in coffee machines, head to Miele.
3/8 Drinks cabinet
The owners were keen for the cabinetry to look more like furniture than kitchen units, and this freestanding dresser in a similar style helps continue the traditional feel. The dresser provides useful storage space, and the cupboard at the bottom serves as a handy drinks cabinet.
4/8 Dresser cabinet
This freestanding dark-wood dresser matches the cabinetry perfectly, and the Rennie Macintosh-style stained-glass windows add a flash of colour and pattern.
All the cabinet handles are crafted from pewter and are made by Finesse. The Basalt grey flooring from the Tile & Design Studio adds beautiful contrast to the walnut cabinetry.

5/8 Larder storage
Style and practicality are key in this kitchen, where the larder combines handy shelves and pull-out drawers for effective and easy-to-access storage.
Elegant stained glass cabinet doors frame a traditional canopy-style cooker hood from Gaggenau.
6/8 Clever corner cupboards
This kitchen cleverly uses all available space by adding corner cupboards that fold right back into hard-to-reach areas. Surfaces are kept clean and free from clutter, leaving appliances like this DeLonghi toaster to make a punchy statement on the speckled granite worksurface.
7/8 Double oven
This tall walnut cabinet houses a multifunction oven, a steam oven, and a handy warming drawer. Double doors conceal a spacious fridge freezer with added storage for pots and pans.
Both ovens and the warming drawer are from Siemens, and the fully integrated fridge-freezer comes from Liebherr.
8/8 Hob and work surfaces
The discreet cooker hood is housed in a traditional canopy that suits the style and grandeur of this room. A simple induction hob nestles in the sleek grey worktop, while a simple microwave is built into the wall units, further maximising worktop space.
Both the microwave and induction hob can be found at Siemens.
