Juicers: 6 of the best
Juice your way to five-a-day with Country Homes & Interiors' shortlist
The latest juicers are simple to use, extract more juice than before and parts can usually be popped in the dishwasher. The latest models are either fast, centrifugal models, which shred fruit using blades for smooth results, or slower masticating ones, which crush fruit for juice with more fibre.
Before we share our shortlist, it's important that you know the lingo...
- Variable speed settings mean different types of fruit and vegetables can be used; hard needs high speeds, soft releases juice at lower speeds.
- Wide feeding tubes reduce the amount of chopping needed before adding the fruit or veg.
- Extra-large chutes can swallow whole apples.
- Masticating models usually have one setting.
- Accessories range from smoothie, puréeing and pressing attachments to lidded jugs for fridges.
Best for soft fruit
A Froojie disc is ideal for smoothies, sauces, dips, soups and ice cream. The five-speed model also has two Nutri discs for hard fruit and veg, and a juicer disc. Dishwasher-safe parts.
Best budget buy
A great first juicer, the Aura adapts its two speeds to suit the fruit or veg. With an extra wide feed chute, it comes with a 2L pulp container and 750ml juice jug. Parts are dishwasher safe.
Best for maximum goodness
A large screw to press, rather than squeeze, juice from fruit (and herbs) means that more of the goodness is preserved. It comes with two 1L jugs and has dishwasher-safe parts.
Best for professional quality
An easy-clean juice basket, citrus press and coulis-making attachment will ensure this centrifugal model is well used, while the induction motor will last for years. Dishwasher-safe parts.
Best for super-sharp blades
Low-angled blades with Japanese engineering whizz through fruit, and a fine mesh sieves out pulp. Glasses of juice can be lined up thanks to a 120°-rotating spout.
Best for ease of use
This centrifugal model with large feed tube and one-touch operation makes short work of fruit and veg. It features a 1.2L pulp container, 500ml juice pitcher and parts are dishwasher-safe.
