Budget Carpets - Our Pick of the Best
From plain neutrals to smart stripes and classic floral there's a carpets that won't cost the earth
Manmade carpets get better looking every day. Polypropylene and polyamide designs have the advantage of being inexpensive compared to wool and other natural fibres and are easy to maintain - some can even be cleaned with a solution of diluted bleach. And you don't have to stick to plains, there are lots of florals, stripes and fun children's designs to look out for, plus budget versions of carpet classics such as Wilton and Berber designs. If you are looking for flooring for a smaller space, such as a box room, don't overlook rugs as you may be able to find a design big enough to cover the floor for less than the cost of wall-to-wall fitted carpet.
