Catwalk to couch: Oh la la - Les Miserables might not be a barrel of laughs (the clue's in the title) but it's inspired us to look to French style interiors
Each fortnight we show you how to bring the hottest catwalk trends into your own home - this week, we've been sobbing our way through Les Miserables
As they say, the clue's in the title. Les Miserables is not your average saturday-night-feel-good movie. But it has garnered rave reviews, a bucket load of awards and a loyal fan base who are willing to brave the emotional rollercoaster to see their favourite stars in action.
Rather than dwell on the misery element of the film we've decided to
focus on the French-style interiors and use it as inspiration for this week's
catwalk to couch.
You need a comfy seat to watch this epic film - all 157 minutes of it. Revel in the French styling of this hand-carved chair and settle down to watch Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne et all do their mean and moody worst. Versailles Baby Chair £315, The French Bedroom Company.
2 The French know how to accessorise. Follow their lead and invest in a vintage-style mirror to create a dramatic sense of ambiance in your bedroom or living room. Matthew Williamson
Silver floral mansion motif hanging mirror, £10.40, Debenhams.
The French also know how to create a stylish boudoir. Take some tips and invest in this four poster 'French Kiss' bed. Drape with voiles for full-on drama. Laurence Llwellyn Bowen French kiss 4 poster metal bedframe, £295, Littlewoods.
4 No, we're not sure what it says exactly, but the chances are neither will your guests so add a little Gallic charm to your living room with this pretty cushion. Greengate quilted cushion cover savon grey, £40, Berry Red.
