Netflix reveals a staggering 42.5 billion hours of streaming were watched last year alone

How many films did you watch last year? How many one-off episodes turned into marathons keeping you up until the early hours?
Quite a few, as it turns out.
Netflix has revealed that its users watched a monumental, unthinkable, astronomic 42.5 billion hours of content last year!
That equates to 4.8 million years of solid TV viewing in 2015 alone.
With 69.2 million subscribers across 190 countries, the average streamer watches 614.2 hours of Netflix per year.
Netflix's CEO Reed Hastings declared ‘today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network' and with these stats, he's not lying.
He went on to add: ‘Consumers around the world - from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo - will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously. No more waiting.

Not for China though - the Government has prevented its country from joining the global programme. Otherwise, Netflix has recently broken another 130 markets, including India.
To ensure you never miss out on your favourite programme by falling asleep on the sofa, the company has even created the Netflix sock to pause the TV whilst you slumber!
