Looking for a Great Escape? Hollywood legend Steve McQueen's idyllic Idaho ranch is up for sale
In need of a getaway? Take a look at this picture-perfect Idaho ranch. Warning: you may fall in love
Tired of city life? Looking for a Great Escape? Stop the search: we may have just found the perfect property for you.
If neighbours aren't your thing and you dream of the great outdoors, take a look at the former home of Steve McQueen, which is up for sale in Idaho.
The Hollywood legend once said, "I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on Earth," and, judging by the total isolation of this idyllic ranch, we'd say
he meant it.
The picture-perfect home is set in a staggering 500 acres and lies at the foot of the Pioneer Mountain.

Located in the vast central Idaho wilderness, the area is renowned for its wide open spaces, natural beauty, scenic mountain ranges and rivers, and is teeming with moose, elk and deer.
Fancy yourself as a bit of an action man like McQueen? According to the estate agents Hall & Hall, the area is perfect for hiking,
hunting, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and backcountry
skiing.

We can see why it was a perfect home for the daredevil actor, who famously declared: 'Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.'
The 'residential compound' (we think that's American for 'houses') on the ranch consists of two adjacent properties, which were built relatively recently, in 1990 and 2010 respectively.
The main house is a cosy two bedroom All-American log cabin and the second home, situated opposite, has a dining area and wet bar for entertaining, a library, large bedroom and one-and-a-half baths (No, we're not sure how you can have one-and-a-half baths either - maybe it's a Hollywood thing.
If you want to spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors, though, the compound features a large fire pit with log benches, a built-in outdoor parrilla (an Argentine-style grill), and a hot tub with sun-drenched southern views.
Both cabins also have wrap-around covered balconies for kicking back and relaxing on those long summer evenings.
Interested? You'd better be quick as a bullet as there's bound to be plenty of interest in this iconic property.
It's on the market at just shy of $7.5 million, so you'd probably need a Hollywood salary to make an offer, but hey, a girl can dream.
