Craft corner: How to add a metallic touch to a pendant light
In this craft video we show you how to add a metallic touch to a simple pendant light.
Love a bit of bling? Learn how to add a metallic touch to a simple pendant light. Metallics are hotter than ever, so get inspired to give your home some gleam and shine. Update an inexpensive pendant light with spray paint and add a copper glow to the inside of the pendant.
Step 1: Disassemble metal overhead light fixtures, bulb cover from base. Using an all-purpose cleaner, thoroughly clean the light fixtures to remove dirt and dust. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry.
Top tip: Make sure you spray in a well-ventilated area and mask off around the edge of your light to keep the line crisp.
Step 2: Spray the base of the light fixture, holding the can 6-8 inches from the surface and using a sweeping side-to-side motion
Step 3: Build the paint gradually, allowing it to dry in between each layer - this will prevent drips and give you an even coverage.
Step 4: Allow paint for dry. You may wish to wait a few hours before reassembling the light fixture.
