Simple Solutions: Pine cone fire lighters
We show you how to use tea light candles and pinecones to create a unique home decoration.
In this episode of Simple Solutions we show you how to make pine cone fire lighters.
Firstly, you'll need to find some pine cones and make sure they are clean and dry.
Step 1: Place cupcake cases on a baking tray and fill each case with a tea light
Step 2: Place them in the oven at 150c, 300F or Gas Mark 2. Watch them until the wax melts - it doesn't take long!
Step 3: Take out of the oven. You could add a drop of candle scent if you want to have fragranced fire lighters. . Move the wick to one side and add a pinecone into each cupcake case.
Step 4: Leave to dry. Remove the cupcake cases and place two or three in the base of your fireplace hearth. They'll catch the kindling on top and get the fire going.
